About DrumPhase

DrumPhase: Founder of DrumPhase Music Academy

Who is DrumPhase?

Akinboyede Lawanson is the founder of "DrumPhase Music Academy". He started music at the age of 9, as a drummer in a church in Ilesa, Osun State. By age 15 he was already one of the best drummers in the state.

He played the bass guitar too, played the piano and guitar a little, then keyboard a lil bit more. He became a music instructor in most of the top modern gospel bands in town, he is really a music guru.

He took a step further to learn music production due to his ultimate love, passion, and talent for music. He opened his first commercial studio in Ilesa as a music producer in the year 2001.

He got his craft right, so he had so many artists and clients, some were even coming into Ilesa from Lagos, Ibadan, Osogbo, and more. Artists like Razor Aguntasholo, Rudy Omo Ibile, IshauYau, and so on.

He came to Lagos in the year 2007 as a professional music producer and great sound engineer, he has brilliant ears for mixing and mastering. He opened his first studio in Ikorodu, where so many upcoming artists (with prospects) got attracted to him. (e.g Qdot, Slimcase, Patoranking, Easyboy, and so on.

Patoranking

It was in his studio in Ikorodu that he discovered his greatest talent which is "Teaching and guiding upcoming Artists on how to write their first hit single" ... This was how he was able to take a significant role in the creation of the first hit singles of his artists (Patoranking, Qdot, SlimCase, etc) in his studio back then, around 2012.

The outstanding character of DrumPhase compared to other producers is his teaching ability. He does not only produce songs for his artists to make money but also wants to help them grow.

SlimCase

This attracted the likes of Qdot, Patoranking, Slimcase, Cblack, Idowest, Razor, BideBold, Ishau, Rudy Omo Ibile, and many others, to be with him.

He taught them lots of things they needed to know:

1) How to create hit songs
2) How to position themselves for sponsors/investors
3) How to stay relevant in the music industry and lots more

Three basic ways to create music in the studio

Three basic ways you can use to create music in the studio 1) The first way is when you write the song, then meet up with a producer to make a beat to the song 2) The second way is when the beat has already been made by the producer, you like it, then you write a song on it. The most effective and popular way is when you listen to the instrumental and write a song on it. NOTE: But If you're lucky enough to be inspired to write a great song, Maybe your listeners (your first set of listeners probably your friends) are telling you that this is a great song. You have to be very careful at this point, don't take this kind of song to a producer that doesn't have enough experience (a starter) Make sure you have enough financial backup to work with a producer that has enough experience to handle a great song. Follow these tips then you're on your way to creating a great music/hit song
